Concrete Sealer X-1 is a permanent silicate based deep penetrating sealer that is effective in making concrete physically stronger while protecting it against frost and salt. It also makes the concrete resistant to stains, acids, moisture, mold and mildew. This product also seals the concrete to significantly reduce the level of radon gas penetration which is known to cause lung cancer.
Concrete Sealer X-1 can be used to treat damp or wet basements, concrete floors, walls, driveways, storage tanks, fish ponds, swimming pools, pipes, blocks, cinder blocks, mortar and stucco.
Concrete Sealer X-1 can be brushed, rolled or sprayed onto the surface to be treated. The surface to be treated does not need any special treatment but it must be oil and dust free to allow proper penetration of the product. It will cover approximately 250 to 500 square feet per gallon depending on the concrete porosity and two coats are recommended. Typically a 5 gallon pail will seal 1,000 square feet of poured concrete using two applications. The product is "self-indicating" because when the pores become saturated a frosted or blooming appearance will be evident which can be hosed or brushed off.
Concrete Sealer X-1 penetrates through the capillaries of the concrete to a depth of up to 4" where it chemically neutralizes damaging chemicals to form a hard insoluble structure based on calcium silicate and calcium hydroxide. Unlike surface coatings this product will not be damaged by efflorescence or be worn down by heavy traffic because it is permanent.
Concrete Sealer X-1 leaves a natural finish (no sheen) after application and the surface will not be slippery. The concrete can also be painted after it has been sealed.
Concrete Sealer X-1 is nonflammable and does not contain chemical solvents or release any VOC or noxious fumes.

This product can be applied over X-1 or X-2 to provide double protection of the concrete with both deep sealing and a water repellant finish.
Concrete Sealer X-3 will also seal bricks, clay tiles, sandstone, limestone, marble, granite, slate and any natural stones.
Concrete Sealer X-3 is a ready to use product and does not require the addition of an activator which means that it has a shelf life of at least 12 months.
