Foot Shears

Baileigh’s foot shear line consists of two models that have a capacity of 52” wide sheet metal with a cutting capacity of 16 gauge sheet metal (Mild Steel T.S. 64,000 PSI). Each stomp shear comes standard with a machined table, infeed and outfeed product supports, and side guides.

Both foot shears come standard with high carbon chromium blades and have multiple cutting surfaces so the blades can be turned for longer useful life. Spring tensioned sheet metal hold downs are standard on both models to reduce sheet lifting when shearing at full capacity. This ensures straight cuts and longer blade life.

The main difference between both stomp shear models is the construction. The SF-5216 is the heavy duty model that has been constructed completely from machined plate steel. The SF-5216E is more of an economical model that uses heavy castings. Both models are fine for most applications, but the SF-5216 has been designed with more attention to detail while the SF-5216E was designed to be economically priced.

Foot Shear SF-5216

Heavy Duty Foot (Stomp) Shear, 52" Length, 16 Gauge Mild Steel Capacity

It is well known that Baileigh sheet metal equipment is built to a higher standard than all others, for example all of our sheet metal cutting machinery is made of solid steel construction and not a brittle cast iron frame like most. The rigidity we design into our machinery helps eliminate deflection across the span of the four sided high carbon chromium blades and blade framework, when shearing up to 16 gauge mild steel. The SF5216 sheet metal shears blade housing is so strong that it can cut easily cut up to 20ga stainless steel as well.

The SF-5216 sheet metal shear has a high torque step positioner that allows for easily shearing at the maximum useful width of 52" and max thickness capacity of 16 gauge mild steel. This metal cutting foot shear was designed for simplicity. It comes equipped with finger guards in place and front arm extensions for safety protection. This manual operated piece of sheet metal machinery is perfect for cutting through other materials like plastic or aluminum. The SF-5216 foot shear has a front gauge and back gauge range of 24" for repeatable cuts time and time again.
