WARNING! Follow all instructions carefully. Misuse of protective equipment or failure to follow the warnings and instructions can result in serious personal injury or death.

This gas mask does NOT contain a supply of oxygen. It removes or neutralizes contaminants from inhaled air and must be used only in areas where there is sufficient oxygen to sustain life.

This gas mask will not provide a satisfactory seal with certain facial characteristics, such as beards or large sideburns, and also eyeglass frames that prevent direct contact between the skin and the sealing surface of the facepiece.

This gas mask is designed to provide respiratory protection only. Since many chemical and biological agents can enter the body through the skin, a hood and protective suit, including gloves and shoe coverings may be necessary.

This gas mask is effective up to a specified concentration. Avoid exposure to high concentrations of agent.

Put on gas mask and protective clothing at first indication of the presence of a warfare agent. Follow warnings of local authorities, as the presence of a warfare agent may not be detectable by sight or smell.

Follow directions of local authorities regarding where to go to seek shelter. Absent these directions, seek a secure place indoors and away from contaminated areas.

Do NOT remove gas mask or protective clothing in contaminated area.

As instructed by local authorities (after agent dissipates or when safely away from contaminated area), decontaminate mask and clothing. Remove mask and clothing only after proper decontamination as instructed by local authorities.

IMPORTANT! Before using these respirators, you must determine the following:

If there is sufficient oxygen present.

The type of contaminant(s) for which the respirator is being selected.

The concentration level of that contaminant.

Whether the respirator can be properly fitted on the wearer's face. All respirator instructions, warnings and use and time limitations must also be read and understood by the wearer before use.

Before using any of the respiratory products listed on this website, the wearer must read and understand all warnings, use limitations and fitting instructions accompanying each product. Failure to do so may result in SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, SICKNESS OR DEATH.

Use of of MSA respirators by untrained or unqualified persons or use not in accordance with the instructions, may adversely affect product performance and result in SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, SICKNESS OR DEATH.

Each respirator must be properly selected based on the contaminant and concentration levels to which the worker is exposed.

MSA respirators are to be used only by qualified persons properly trained in their use and maintenance, and only in accordance with their operating and maintenance manuals. Each person using these products must first read and understand the operator's manual. Failure to do so may result in SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, SICKNESS OR DEATH.

Airborne exposure limits have not been established for biological hazards. Respirators can only reduce the exposure. They do not eliminate the risk of contracting disease or infection.

USE LIMITATIONS

Failure to comply with all instructions and warnings on the use of these products and/or failure to wear the respirator during all times of exposure may reduce respirator effectiveness and result in SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, SICKNESS OR DEATH.

Never alter or modify this respirator.

Repair or replace respirator parts if they become damaged or worn. Use appropriate MSA parts only.

Use appropriate MSA cartridge with respirator.

DO NOT use Air Purifying Respirators when concentrations of contaminants are unknown or immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH).

Use of the equipment described on this website should be in accordance with applicable safety and health standards, respirator selection tables contained in such publications as ANSI Z88.2-1992, or pursuant to the recommendations of an industrial hygienist.
