<B>Ask Charlie! How To Tips

Taymor provides the plastic anchors that comes with the products that attach to walls. This anchor is adequate for most installations, however, there are occasions when the installer may need to get a little creative.

You may want to try these installation tricks. It all depends on the type and condition of the wall you are attaching to.

The manufacturer has no way of knowing each individual job site condition, nor are they able to oversee the installation of products. Therefore, they provide a good all around fastener system that works in most circumstances.

The first step is to use the recommended drill size for the plastic anchor provided with your accessory. A properly drilled hole will be small enough to provide a tight fit for the plastic anchor and in most cases will be sufficiently snug to allow the insertion of the mounting screw.

One installation trick is to use a little soap on the screw before you put it into the anchor. Soap acts as a lubricant so the plastic anchor will not spin from the friction of the screw.

Also, if the dry wall is not very solid, you can add a little white glue to the anchor and let it dry before you install the screw. Or you may want to do both.

One other secret, try putting a small piece of paper around the anchor to make the anchor tighter.

You, as the installer, will need to find the winning combination. This is typical with self-installed products.

The Taymor products are do-it-yourself installed, so some installation experience is helpful. If all else fails, a handyman may be your best bet!
