Metal Working Drill Presses

Baileigh Industrial offers two types of metal working drill presses: First we have our industrial drill press line that has a gear head transmission. Second we offer a variable speed drill press line that uses an inverter frequency drive to vary the speed of the spindle.

Our gear head driven machines are considered a metal working floor drill press. They have a very large column with sturdy cast bases and work tables. A heavy duty gear head transmission transfers the power to the spindle flawlessly even under full load. The transfer uses large Morse 3 and 4 tapers to further transfer the power. Depending on which model of industrial drill press you choose, there is a halogen light, coolant system, and safety guarding as standard.

The variable speed drill press line consists of three versions with different capacities up to 1-1/2” mild steel. These are floor drill press models that have inverter drives that transfer power from a DC variable speed motor to a heavy duty transmission by a heavy cogged timing belt. These machines run smoothly even at full capacity. Each model comes with a halogen light, safety shields, variable speed and a self contained coolant system. The DP-1500VS comes standard with an auto tapping feature.

Baileigh gear driven industrial drill press and variable drill press lines have been designed and built to provide decades of profitable use for the fabrication or machine shop. We carry these metal drill presses typically in stock for quick turnarounds.
