Multi Gas Personal Monitors

The Neotronics brand of MultiGas Monitors manufactured by Zellweger Analytics are able to monitor and display up to four gases simultaneously. A pre-calibrated disposable cartridge is used for sensing oxygen, flammable gas, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide gases. The Impact Pro model includes a serviceable sensor cartridge that allows for additional toxic sensors. The Impact Pro models are made to accept a safelink cable connection that allows two Impact Pro models to communiticate with each other.

Both the Impact Pro and Impact models can sample tight spots that may be difficult to reach. The Impact Pro is built with an internal air pump that draws air into the unit for easy sampling. The Impact Model requires a hand aspirated pump to draw air into the unit for sampling.

A sample probe (wand) can be purchased, and is used for sampling tight spots that may be difficult to reach. The wand is used in conjunction with the hand aspirator or internal pump, and it is not required for sampling. The probe extends 4 feet and a user can attach it to a sample tubing that is directed into a crack, or crevice. This allows air to draw into the unit for the sample.

Sampling by hand aspirator (Impact) or using a built in pump (Impact Pro) both perform the same function. When hand aspirating, for every foot of distance from the monitor, the operator must pump the bulb 3 times. The pumping process continues until the sampling process is completed, to a maximum depth of 30 feet. The recommended depth for sampling with a hand aspirated unit is no more than 10 feet.

Sampling with a pump unit means no bulb pumping - the pump does the work. Example: user wants to sample a 30 foot deep hole. With a Impact monitor with no pump he has to hand-pump the bulb 90 times to get a reading down to 30 feet. In comparison, the Impact Pro unit just activates the pump by putting the pump adaptor (black plate supplied with pump units) on the monitor. The pump draws 2 feet per second and will sample to about 50 feet. We recommend an electronic pump to any user routinely sampling down to 10 feet or more.

Finally the operator will have a continuous reading when using an Impact Pro Unit with a pump because there are no pauses - it turns on and goes. Hand sampling can't produce a "continuous"reading unless you are Superman and can hand pump a rubber bulb as smoothly and quickly as the electronic pump! Turn the pump on and it runs continuously until you turn it off. Its that easy!
