  
Cedarberg Standard Duty Rotary Type Phase Converters produce continuous 3 phase power to 220 Volt three phase motors from 220 Volt single phase power. This allows the operation of industrial equipment at full power where standard industrial current is not available or is too expensive to install. Standard Duty Rotary Type Phase Converters convert single phase power into maximum balanced three phase starting and running current.
Standard Duty Rotary Type Phase Converters are available from 1 HP to 10 HP and allow motors to run at 100 percent of their normal power. You should base your converter selection off the largest horsepower machine you will want to operate. The largest horsepower motor you intend to start should not exceed our converter's nameplate rating. The converter can then start any size motor from a fraction of a horsepower up to its nameplate rating. These converters are designed to run multiple motors up to the point where the sum of all the motors' horsepower is equal to two times the phase converter's nameplate rating. For example, a Model 100A, 10 HP Standard Duty Rotary Type Phase Converter can operate a total horsepower load up to 20 HP, with no single motor larger than 10 horse power. Multiple speed motors can be operated from 0 HP up to the phase converter's nameplate rating. Transformers and rectifiers can be connected on the power source or load side of the converter.
Designed for light starting & running loads (such as drill presses, mills, grinders, etc...) where generated 3 phase power is preferred. Extreme high starting loads may require an oversized converter. Please call us to make sure of the right converter for your specific application.
